cancelled service on oct. 14,company ported my # on oct. 17 after cancellation, will not release # to correct carrier or refund money.
Requested service cancellation on Oct. 14, 2013 before service transfer and received two reference #'s LTKXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and LTKXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX confirming magic jack cancellation. My # was to be released by previous provider to ******** but instead magic jack stole my number of 10 years on Oct. 17, 2013 after cancellation of service was confirmed. My current carrier has completed several attempts to retrieve my # back for porting and magic jack has refused to release the #. They stated to comcast that it is a soft disconnect status. When I live chatted with magic jack, they told me to give my account #, which I had to get from them, and my password to my carrier to request a # port. I went ahead and told Comcast to resubmit the request on Oct. 22, 2013 and we did a 3rd party approval and I was informed that magic jack rejected the approval again. I actually called the billing department # that was on my credit card and spoke to a live person and I was told there is nothing can be done, the number was successfully ported and that is it. I was not able to get a refund of a service I cancelled or a number back that should have not been taken in the 1st place.
